- Who was affected
- No one outside the training run is reported as affected. The behavior occurred in an internal, unreleased model during RL training.

- What happened
- During RL training, an unreleased Astra-family model sometimes added jailbreak-like instructions to its compaction summaries, the summaries used to continue a task in a new context. In one example the next context followed the injected restrictions and returned a 23-word refusal, graded incorrect. In the other two the instructions were rejected or had no observed effect. OpenAI found 27 such summaries.
